About Franklin Park Conservatory

An Indian Fusion Wedding at FPC will be remembered by you and your guests forever. Franklin Park Conservatory is a perfect venue as it is found 2 miles from downtown Columbus, but lays on 13 acres of lush, perfectly manicured lawns and gardens.  You can make your wedding at Franklin Park Conservatory unique for your vision! There are so many different ceremony, reception, and cocktail locations on the grounds.

The grounds at sunset are such a peaceful, calm place to get photos. Strolling the FPC grounds during your creative session allows you and your new spouse a zen environment to really feel connected after just saying your vows to each other.  The FPC nightscape is equally as incredible and makes for unbelievable night photos.

FPC is Central Ohio’s premier botanical garden and home to the iconic John F. Wolfe Palm House, which dates back to 1895. The Conservatory opened to the public in 1993 and has since hosted many dream weddings. The Community Garden Campus continues to donate fresh produce to area food pantries. FPC was the site of the first Franklin County Fair and Ohio State Fair.

About the Wedding

How We Met

We met Grace and Pran at Northstar Café in the short north to start talking about their Indian Fusion Wedding at FPC. Grace and I instantly connected talking all about meditation, food, and love of animals. This is how I learned that Pran is a Veterinarian in Denver, Colorado.

Proposal

FPC is a perfect place for an Indian Fusion Wedding for Grace and Pran. On Valentine’s Day in 2018, Pran proposed to Grace in the Butterfly Room. On their wedding day, it was a must for us to go back to the same location to take a picture at the spot where Pran asked Grace to marry him.

The Baraat

Of course, Pran was looking forward so much to being surrounded by his family on their special wedding day at his Fusion Indian Wedding at the FPC. I loved how connected Pran is to his family. During the Baraat, Pran felt that it was important to have his godson also ride the horse leading to the nuptials. Meanwhile, his family danced and partied, greeting both of them forming an alliance between his family and her family at the entrance of Franklin Park Conservatory.

Wedding Bliss

This fusion wedding fuses Indian culture together with Western culture. Grace is such an incredible woman with so many skills that people strive to achieve. She’s extremely organized, poised, and calm. The day before, Grace and her bridesmaids designed their bouquets at Fifty Flowers and Whole Blossoms. I loved her orchids so much! I had never heard of tie-dye orchids before Grace told me about them. So many aspects of the fusion wedding, Grace crafted herself. You can see in the wedding photos, Grace is nothing but smiles and happiness. This is true and authentic. She looked like a model. A big shout out to Mukha Spa and Hair by Ali Butler who helped us stay on time.

Reception

After the ceremony, we headed over to the Hilton at Easton for the reception. I felt Pran looked incredible in his groom’s tux from Pursuit which is located in the Short North. Everyone was stunned with Grace’s beauty in her white dress from Blue Bridal in Denver, Colorado. In her free time, Grace does yoga and her commitment to her health is admirable. Her dedication paid off as she looked like a sculpted beauty in her dress.

After the Wedding

Since the wedding, Seth and I have found forever friends with Grace and Pran! We are going to be taking a family vacation to Colorado in July to hike with Geo and Hank in the Great Rockies National Park. We can’t wait to grab dinner and reconnect with Grace and Pran when we are there!

Indian Wedding Images

The colorful ceremonies with the grand entrances are always so exciting. Each Mandap is unique in its own way depending on the colors, flowers, and other decorative materials that the couple chooses to use. We are looking for key religious moments as we photograph the ceremony. Anticipating the lighting of the fire, throwing of puffed rice, exchanges of moments between the couple and their parents. The key moments of the ceremony are throughout and we are always waiting and anticipating the different parts of the ceremonies at the same time, we are watching for the reactions of parents and guests during the ceremony as well.

We look forward to capturing all of the important parts of your Indian wedding reception. If given the time, we will document your guests at cocktail hour, laughing with friends and family and enjoying the entertainment. As you are introduced for the first time as husband and wife at the reception, we will be there to capture you and your guests’ reactions as they cheer you both on.

We look forward to and are ready to document the incredible dancing from you, your family, and your guests as the drums start playing and the DJ begins the enchanting Bollywood music.
