1885 Farm set the tone for a wedding day that felt quietly powerful rather than loud for the sake of celebration. Katie and Adam’s wedding was intentional, grounded, and deeply meaningful—never staged, never overly sentimental, just sincere. The setting gave the entire day space to breathe, allowing each moment to unfold naturally.

Katie and Adam’s 1885 Farm Wedding
From the start, Katie and Adam were clear about what they wanted their wedding to feel like: relaxed, personal, and centered on connection. They trusted the day to unfold naturally, which allowed moments to happen without being forced or rushed.
Their ceremony, reception, and everything in between felt cohesive because it reflected them—thoughtful, warm, and understated. The venue supported that vision perfectly, offering beauty without distraction and structure without stiffness. It’s easy to see why couples are drawn to 1885 Farm when they want a wedding that feels elevated but still deeply human.

About the Couple | Katie and Adam
Katie and Adam’s story is rooted in intention, resilience, and quiet humor. Katie, a night-shift nurse originally from the Geauga area, and Adam, who works in private security and is deeply involved with the Marine Corps League and Toys for Tots, now call Canton home. Their engagement was as memorable as it was real—on top of a snow-covered mountain after a nerve-wracking hike, where Katie felt the fear of the climb and Adam felt the pressure so intensely he actually threw up before proposing. For their wedding day, they were most excited about photos that feel honest and complete: candid moments, getting-ready images, barn and wildflower scenes, glowing sunset light, and a full view of the celebration from above if possible. Their ceremony welcomed by all of their favorite people, a special dad reveal, their dog Frodo, a brother serving as flower girl and ring bearer, nieces in the bridal party, and Adam’s Marine friends standing beside him—every detail chosen to reflect the people and moments that matter most to them.

1885 Farm’s Getting Ready Rooms
The morning began in calm, light-filled spaces that encouraged a slower pace. These rooms are functional without feeling utilitarian, and clean without feeling sterile—ideal for both comfort and photography.
Katie spent the morning surrounded by close friends, family and kids, with plenty of time for conversation and quiet moments. Adam’s side was equally relaxed, focused less on nerves and more on anticipation. The setting allowed everyone to settle into the day without distraction, which made the transition into the ceremony feel natural rather than abrupt.

1885’s Outside Ceremony
The ceremony took place outdoors, framed by open land and soft natural light. The setting felt intimate without being enclosed—guests felt connected to the moment while still aware of the landscape around them.
Katie and Adam exchanged vows in a way that felt sincere and grounded. There was no excess, no unnecessary production—just words spoken with intention. The simplicity of the ceremony allowed the emotion to stand on its own, a reminder that the strongest moments often need the least embellishment. Katie was such a beautiful bride!

The Reception in the Barn
As the evening moved into the barn, the atmosphere shifted from reflective to celebratory without losing its sense of calm. The space felt warm and inviting, with beautiful lighting and layout that encouraged conversation and movement.
Dinner flowed easily. Toasts were heartfelt but measured. Guests lingered, talked, and laughed without feeling hurried. The barn provided structure while still allowing the celebration to feel organic—a space that adapts effortlessly to the energy of the room.

Dancing Outside & a Meaningful Tribute
Later in the evening, the celebration moved outdoors. This portion of the night felt especially free—less formal. Guests gathered naturally, music carried through the air, and the mood shifted into something lighter but no less meaningful.
One of the most powerful moments of the entire day happened here. Adam chose to share a special dance not with his own mother—who has passed—but with the mothers of two fellow Marines who lost their lives in war. Knowing they would never get to dance with their sons at their weddings, Adam honored them in a way that was quiet, dignified, and deeply intentional.

Creative Photos with the couple
The property offers a wide range of backdrops that allow portraits to feel varied without pulling couples far from their guests. We focused on movement and interaction rather than posed perfection—short portrait sessions that captured real connection.
Open fields, textured barn elements, and natural light gave us flexibility throughout the day. The result was a set of images that feel honest and timeless, rooted in how the day actually unfolded rather than how it was staged.
