There are wedding days that feel like beautiful celebrations, and then there are wedding days that feel like family from the moment you arrive. Rosario and Carrie’s Cleveland Italian Village Wedding was absolutely the latter.
Set in the heart of Cleveland’s Little Italy, their wedding at Guarino’s Restaurant brought together everything we love about photographing weddings: family, tradition, incredible food, meaningful moments, and a couple completely surrounded by people who love them.
This wedding was especially meaningful for us because our relationship with this family began before Rosario and Carrie’s wedding day. We had the opportunity to photograph their daughter Lily’s senior portraits, so walking into their wedding already felt familiar. Seeing everyone again—and getting to photograph another important chapter for their family—made the day even sweeter.
A Cleveland Italian Village Wedding Centered Around Family
At the heart of Rosario and Carrie’s wedding was the beautiful blending of two families.
You could feel the support surrounding them all day long. Their families weren’t simply guests watching the bride and groom get married. They were part of the story. There was laughter, excitement, emotion, and that wonderful energy that happens when everyone in the room genuinely wants the very best for the couple.
For Rosario and Carrie, their Cleveland Italian Village Wedding was about honoring where they came from while celebrating the family and future they are building together.
Their Italian heritage played an important role in the celebration, and Cleveland’s Little Italy could not have provided a more fitting backdrop.
There is something so distinctly Cleveland about Little Italy. The historic buildings, neighborhood restaurants, narrow streets, colorful storefronts, and generations of Italian-American history give the area a personality all its own.
Instead of leaving the neighborhood for portraits, we embraced it.

Hosting a Guarino’s Restaurant Wedding was such a natural choice for Rosario and Carrie.
The restaurant has the warmth and character you hope to find when celebrating love in Little Italy. Rather than feeling like a traditional ballroom wedding, the entire celebration felt intimate and connected. Guests could relax, laugh, celebrate, enjoy an incredible meal, and simply spend time together.
And we need to talk about the meatballs.
Seriously.

Food has such an important place in Italian family traditions, and it became another way Rosario and Carrie’s wedding celebrated their heritage. Sitting around tables, sharing a meal, raising glasses, telling stories, and celebrating a marriage felt perfectly at home in Little Italy.

Italian Heritage, Cigars and Wedding Traditions
One of our favorite parts of Rosario and Carrie’s celebration was the incredible cigar tradition.
It created such a fun moment for photographs while adding another layer of personality and heritage to the evening. Everyone gathered together, the cigars came out, and suddenly we had this amazing scene filled with laughter, conversation, and celebration.
Those are the moments we love photographing.
Of course, we want the beautiful portraits and classic photographs everyone expects from a wedding day. But we also want the photographs that instantly bring you back to how the celebration felt.
Years from now, Rosario and Carrie will be able to look at photographs of those cigars, their families laughing together, the streets of Cleveland Little Italy, and everyone gathered around the tables and remember exactly what that night felt like.
That is what makes wedding photography so powerful.
Wedding Portraits Around Cleveland’s Little Italy
As Little Italy Cleveland Wedding Photographers, this neighborhood gives us so many opportunities to create portraits that feel completely different from a traditional wedding venue.
We loved taking Rosario and Carrie outside and allowing the neighborhood itself to become part of their photographs.
Brick buildings, storefronts, sidewalks, restaurant signs, tucked-away corners, and the unmistakable energy of Little Italy gave us beautiful backgrounds everywhere we turned.
More importantly, Rosario and Carrie could simply enjoy being together.
Their luxury portraits weren’t about pulling them away from their celebration for hours. We wanted them to experience their wedding while still creating beautiful photographs that represented them and their connection to this place.
That balance is something we always strive for as Cleveland Wedding Photographers.

Rosario and Carrie’s wedding reminded us why family-centered celebrations can be some of the most meaningful weddings to photograph.
Their day wasn’t about following every wedding trend or creating something simply because it looked beautiful. It felt personal.
They brought their families together. They celebrated their Italian heritage. They shared incredible food. They walked through Little Italy together. They honored traditions. They laughed. They celebrated. And they started this next chapter surrounded by an amazing support system.
Having previously photographed Lily’s senior photos made documenting this day even more meaningful for us. We love when photography allows us to stay connected with families through different seasons of their lives.
